We engage in meaningful community service projects, including literacy events for students in the Palo Alto area, awareness concerts, school-wide March Madness bracket competitions for charity, and philanthropy dinners with notable alumni. SAE aims to excel in every facet of fraternity life. To continue to strive for success in our mental, physical, and social development. Recruitment and New Member Education Policies.Recognition Policy - Appendix B: Reinstatement Application Materials.Recognition Policy - Appendix A: Definitions.African-American Fraternal and Sororal Association.Membership Recruitment and Intake Eligibility.Well, all good things come to an end with the following exception: The brothers had a fabulous time seeing everyone from their college days, and the bonds of their comradeship and fraternity will never end. Their winning point came on a famous house play called the "Roeser-slip" that the All-Stars had learned from a Sig Alph graduate student. The All-Stars rallied late on a very long pass that bounced from player to player and finally tied the contest at six each. SAE then got the ball right back and marched to the six-yard line where a dropped pass in the end zone would have put the game out of reach. Much credit must go to the Campus All-Stars, as they were under the psychological strain of seeing the senior SAE team jump to a 6-point early lead. The contest was incredibly close, with the brothers controlling the ball most of the time. Additionally, the Michigan dancing girls shouted "SAE" as part of the traditional music-aided cheer heard every Saturday in the Big House. The final score was 7-6 after some 44 minutes of hard-fought grid action on October 17 comprising the major event in connection with the 75th anniversary celebration of Michigan's intramural sports building.Ĭertainly, it was a great afternoon with the strains of the victors reverberating in all spectators' ears as the University of Michigan's marching band provided some wonderfully spirited Wolverine favorites. The Campus All-Stars, composed of at least nine Michigan men, who each at one time had been part of a Michigan intramural championship, finally turned the trick. I have to report the football dynasty that started with the fabulous SAE "B" Tigers in 1957 and extending many years beyond with unbeaten Mogk teams as far as the eye could see has finally come to an end.Īlas, while the historic Mogk juggernauts were undefeated in the 20th century, this century started less than optimally. Even Vince Lombardi dropped a key championship game, not remembered by most. There is no joy in Mudville, as the mighty Casey has struck out.
